KATHARINE MORLING
KATHARINE MORLING is an award-winning Ceramic Artist. Since setting up her studio in 2003 she has gained international acclaim. After graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2009, she has won the Arts Council 'Award for the Arts' two years in a row and was awarded First Prize at the 2010 World Crafts Council Triennial in Belgium. Katharine also represented the UK at the 2010 European Ceramic Context in Denmark and was selected for the 'Award' exhibition at British Ceramic Biennial. For COLLECT 2011, Katharine showed a new installation of work in the Project Space of the Saatchi Gallery. 

Katharine also works on commercial art projects including the Bafta's, Harrods, Selfridges, the National Trust and several Bond Street Jewelers. Currently, she is making an installation for the Royal London Hospital's new children's ward. Her work has been exhibited at venues including the V&A, Design Museum, Sir John Soane Museum, Nottingham Castle, Royal Academy and Royal College of Art. Katharine is represented by the Long and Ryle Gallery in London.


THE WORKSHOPS
Evening workshop - 6.30-8.30pm - £50
(Two sessions are recommended to make and decorate your work)
Katharine is offering an opportunity to work with her in her studio where you will be inspired by your own creative abilities and create your own unique piece of art.

In a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with expert one-to-one advice and guidance as part of a small group of a maximum of three, you will explore the potters wheel and slab and hand building techniques to create your own pieces of ceramics.


What to bring
No prior experience or preparation is required. However, if do wish to bring your own designs you are most welcome to. Please wear old clothes and trainers or solid shoes. Materials and firing costs are included.
